Ryan McMahon
Ryan is an entrepreneurial sales professional with 20 plus years of experience in the steel industry. His experiences include carbon steel sheet, plate, coil, mechanical tube, fence tube, structural tube, and pipe. His career has focused upon building relationships between steel mills, service centers/distributors, and manufacturers promoting a spirit of partnership between the buyers and sellers.
Ryan first entered the steel business in 1997, joining Steel Warehouse Company Inc. as an inside sales representative. He worked with mills and large OEM’s processing steel coil into plate, sheet, blanks, and slit coil. In this capacity, Ryan grew in his knowledge of steel types, special grades, and their associated performance characteristics within the manufacturing setting.
In 2000, Ryan relocated to Texas when he was asked to join a Steel Warehouse Company subsidiary, Lock Joint Tube, and was instrumental in growing their mechanical tube market share in the Southwest.
In 2003, Ryan realized that his ability to maximize company ROI while delivering value added products to a diverse customer base could be put into play on behalf of a number of strategically selected companies. He founded RM Components as a premier manufacturer’s representation firm, and proudly represents strategic principals in 16 states and the Province of British Columbia.
Ryan’s proudest accomplishment is successfully navigating the “great recession”. RM Components’ talented team grew their principals’ businesses by adding more new customers and market share than was lost during that difficult time.
A native of South Bend, Indiana and a graduate of Indiana University, Ryan currently resides in Georgetown, Texas. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys time with his wife Erica and two children Conner and Claire, playing and coaching hockey, fishing, and golf.
